What Happens When You Say “Forgive Me?”

power-of-forgiveness_t
Forgiveness is the act and attitude toward those who have wronged us which restores relationship and fellowship.

The need for forgiveness is seen first in Genesis chapter 3 as Adam and Eve willfully disobeyed God, choosing to satisfy their own self will. The result was guilt separation from God and loss of fellowship, a life of hardship, anxiety and death (Gen. 3, 23-24)

To forgive it takes love, a wanting to spare oneself of guilt, a wanting for complete peace of mind. The battle is won when we make up our hearts and mind to settle our conscience. Sometimes we feel the hurt was not something we did but something did to us.

Whether the offender is aware or not, the hurt and disturbed mind is ours. Keeping ourselves pure and the way clear, we must follow the leadings of the holy spirit, to get it settled. Beloved, it is amazing what happens to your mind and heart when you say “I’m sorry…please forgive me.”
